HVA was established in 1992, as agents in Southern Africa for Heaton Valves UK, in order to provide a first-class stockholding, distribution and project management service to the oil, petrochemical, process and associated industries. Since then this privately owned company, with its shareholders playing an active role as its directors, has withstood the challenges faced from conglomerate-owned competitors, growing from strength to strength. The Kwa-Zulu Natal Office was opened in Durban in 1998 - ideally situated to service the coastal and Midlands areas.
HVA obtained the sole local distribution for TLV Steam equipment as well as Leser Safety Relief Valves in 2000.
The acquisition of the sole Velan and OMB agencies in 2001 added immense depth to HVA's product offering in areas of gate, globe, check and ball valves in all forged and cast steel materials from size 1/2'" to 48" bore sizes, up to over 2500# pressure class.
2003 saw the establishment of a Cape Office for HVA. This recently enlarged facility provides essential services to Cape valve distributors and end users requiring prompt response, deliveries and contract management.
Schuf Valve Technology, realising HVA was a force to be reckoned with within the African valve market since entrenching and expanding their business, awarded HVA sole access to their speciality engineered valves in 2004. Many prestigious and specialised valve projects have been carried out between Schuf Valve Technology and HVA, for end users geographically situated from Cape Town to Qatar. Soon thereafter, HVA was asked to represent Tomoe butterfly valves from Japan and Protego flame arrestors and low-pressure tank equipment, manufactured in Germany.
Moving ahead to 2009, and a third technical division - "Engineered Products" - was established in order to service clients requiring specific valve solutions not catered for by commodity type equipment. High performance, large bore, and actuated quarter turn and linear valve packages are also covered within this technical division.
In line with the expansion into a more specialised valve focus, 2010 saw the prestigious Orton valve agency from Italy securely retained within the now fast growing Engineered Products Division. To this day Orton gives HVA access to specialised quarter turn pipeline and triple eccentric valve solutions for tight shut off requirements to Shell TAT in all up-steam, down-stream and pipeline applications.
During 2010, HVA completed it's Engineered Products Division' supply offering to the product storage industry, by adding Lightening Master lightening protection equipment and Atreus Geodesic domes to its comprehensive range of tank equipment.
HVA, now also a household name in flame arrestor sizing and selection to international standards such as API, is expanding throughout the combustion engineering sector, to now exclusively represent the prestigious Zeeco Corporation. Zeeco, based in Oklahoma - USA, with a European facility in Stamford - UK, offers a highly-technical range of flares, burners and incinerators, as well as a full range of spares, technical support, maintenance and project engineering services for all types of combustion end-users.
HVA boasts Foster Wheeler, Fluor, Lurgi, Technip, Sasol, Sastech, Natref, Thyssenkrupp Udhe, Engen, Sapref (Shell & BP), Megchem, BP, PDPS, Royal Haskoning Dordtse Engineering, Eskom, Chevron, ACSA, Encon, Lesedi, Linde, Total, Anglo, Impala Platinum, Continental Tyres, LTA Grinaker, EPC-Avenge, Air Products, Petro SA, SAB Miller, Sappi, Mondi, Arcelor Mittal, Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone, Tenovo, Illovo, Petronet, Omnia, Air Liquide, Worley Parsons, Kantley & Templer, VGI, Kentz, Ilitha-Jacobs, KBR, SPX DB Thermal, BASF, Alstom and Group 5 amongst its clientele.
